A few things to know about your information and the files you download from us.
What this covers.
MiAI offers downloadable learning resources. This page explains the current site’s privacy practices and the limits of using those resources. Last updated: 20 October 2026.
Information on this site.
You don’t need an account to download a skill. The current site has no assignment upload form, advertising trackers or analytics scripts. Our optional contact form asks for your email address and message; you can also give a name and choose a topic. Fonts and images are served with the site. The prompt builder, grade calculator, assignment planner and evidence map run in your browser without sending their inputs to MiAI or an AI provider, and do not save those inputs to site storage. Copying or downloading your work puts that content on your clipboard or device; pasting it into another service shares it with that service. Your light or dark theme choice is saved in your browser as “miai-theme”; it isn’t sent to us by the site’s code. You can remove it through your browser’s site-data settings.
Messages and service providers.
If you contact us, your address and anything you send are used to handle your enquiry. The form sends these details to FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), which forwards them to our contact inbox. FormSubmit’s documentation states that submissions are retained in its archive for 30 days; inbox copies have a separate retention period. See FormSubmit’s privacy information. FormSubmit and our email provider may process information outside New Zealand or Australia. We haven’t confirmed the countries involved, so don’t use the form for sensitive information. Please don’t send sensitive personal details or confidential coursework. Hosting and email services may process technical or message data, including IP addresses, request times and email content, depending on the services used. Their storage locations and retention depend on the provider; we haven’t confirmed production hosting details for this version. We don’t sell personal information. Information may be shared with service providers to operate the site or handle enquiries, or where disclosure is required by law. Personal information should be kept only as long as needed for those purposes or legal requirements. No internet service can offer absolute security.
What you put into ChatGPT.
Downloading a file doesn’t give MiAI access to your ChatGPT conversations, Projects or assignments. If you add material to ChatGPT or visit another service, that provider’s terms, privacy policy and account settings apply. Check them before sharing personal, confidential or copyrighted material. MiAI is independent of OpenAI, Anthropic and your university; none endorses these resources.
No guaranteed responses.
Our resources are general educational material, supplied as available. We don’t promise perfect, accurate, complete or up-to-date AI responses, that a model will follow every instruction, or that the files will work with every account or future product version. Research references explain the methods behind a workflow; they don’t prove these exact downloads will work for you. We don’t guarantee better marks, improved understanding, acceptance of an assignment, compliance with university rules or any other result. These resources aren’t professional advice or a substitute for your course instructions.
Using the downloads.
You choose whether to download and use the files, at your own risk, subject to the rights below. Check the file and any AI output before relying on them. You’re responsible for your submissions, decisions, source checks and following your assessment’s AI-use rules. To the extent permitted by law, MiAI excludes liability for loss or damage arising from using, being unable to use, or relying on the site, downloads or AI outputs, including academic outcomes, data loss and third-party services. This does not exclude responsibility that the law requires us to retain.
Your rights still apply.
Nothing on this page excludes, restricts or modifies rights, guarantees or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under New Zealand’s Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986, or the Australian Consumer Law, where they apply. Any limitation above operates only to the extent permitted by law. Privacy rights under New Zealand’s Privacy Act 2020 and Australia’s Privacy Act 1988 apply where relevant; this page does not remove them.

Please describe your concern without including unnecessary sensitive information. If it remains unresolved, you can contact the New Zealand Privacy Commissioner or the Australian Information Commissioner, where applicable. We may update this page as the site changes; check the date above for the current version.
